Jolita owns and operates Studio Touch, a Pilates and Gyrotonic studio in Florence, Italy. She created and directs a popular teacher training program that until now was only available throughout Italy.
Jolita began her Pilates studies in 1999. She began a 2 year program of study with Pilates Elder Lolita San Miguel in 2008 and earned the designation “Second Generation Master Instructor”. She became a Pilates Method Alliance Certified Teacher (PMA-CPT) in 2010. She has remained active with the PMA, first serving on the Committee for Certification Passing Point Determination and now serves on the Task Force for Teacher Training School Standardization. Additionally, Jolita has presented seminars and workshops in China, Russia, Japan, Mexico, Thailand, Taiwan and various European countries.
The Pilates Network Teacher Training Program satisfies the 450-hour PMA quality criteria guidelines. The program is divided into 3 phases: Matwork Training – 125 hours, Studio Apparatus Training – 275 hours and Specialty Training – 50 hours.
Details of the Program of Study
MATWORK TRAINING The Matwork Training phase prepares students to teach the matwork repertoire in a group class setting to mixed levels of ability. The curriculum includes the original exercises, as well as modifications for beginner and intermediate clients. The special needs of pregnancy and older adults will also be addressed. The course is broken down into three sections outlined below:
Section I The History of the Pilates Method The Basic Principles of the Method Working with Neutral Pelvis in various anatomical positions A Basic Repertoire of 15 exercises modified for a beginner level group class Considerations for Warm-up and class structure Practice teaching hours
Section II Theory for Special Population clients (pregnancy / elderly) Exercise Modifications for Older clients and Pregnancy The Intermediate Repertoire of 25 exercises modified for a mixed level group class Basic Anatomy and Physiology (100 question multiple-choice exam)
Section III Playing with small props (magic circle, roller, bands, etc) The original 34 exercises as presented in Contrology (plus extras) Practical teaching exam Presentation of self-practice documentation Presentation of teaching video
STUDIO APPARATUS TRAINING
The Studio Apparatus Training builds on the framework of the matwork fundamentals and covers postural analysis, program design and practical applications of all apparatus. This phase of the program consists of 275 hours of study including 150 hours of teacher contact, 100 hours of supervised practice teaching and 25 hours of self-practice (assigned lessons). The self-practice hours must be prearranged with the studio.

The remaining 50 hours of the program are fulfilled by attending approved specialty workshops and/or courses (ex. Arcus training, in-depth anatomy, special populations, post-rehab, etc).
Matwork Training (3 - five day courses) $1800 + $200 for study materials
Studio Apparatus Training (4 - five day courses) $2800 + $200 for study materials.
Specialty Training Schedule and cost is dependent upon courses offered.
*There is a $500 non-refundable deposit required to reserve your spot. The deposit will be applied to the final phase of the training (it would be applied to the Mat course if that is the only course attended).
Full payment for each phase (Matwork, Studio Apparatus Training, and Specialty Training) is due 30 days prior to the start of the first section for that phase.
Refund policy: 50% refund (minus the $500 deposit) if cancellation notice is given 30 days prior to the start of the phase). No refund will be issued for cancellations occurring within 30 days of the program start date.
